QCCA News & Announcements: *** See our new Blog, sign-up, see annotated chess games, and more. Mark Your Calendars! The QCCA is having a picnic outing. Open (and FREE!) to all QCCA Members and their families. Saturday June 9, 2012 at Park Road Park, Shelter #4, starting at Noon..no ending time. Hamburgers and Hot Dogs will be provided. Those coming are encouraged to bring food, especially vegetarians =]. Endless speed chess and football! March 20: 6:30pm, FIDE Trainer Visweswaran Kameswaran , will visit the QCCA, and give a special presentation. *** See BLOG article for what happened ***
Visweswaran Kameswaran He is the official coach of India's national youth teams and has worked with some who have gone on to the Grandmaster title. He will give a presentation for all, adult and youth, starting at 6:30pm. The theme will be "The Young Anand". Afterwards, he will take interested youth players to a separate area for some additional coaching. We are very lucky to have him. He is considering coming back for more traditional training sessions with our players while he is in the United States. Please give him a warm welcome on Tuesday night. We sincerely hope you can attend this last minute event! February 15: Raliegh Chess Club has expressed interest in a match with the QCCA - details not yet developed. This would probably be held about half-way between Charlotte and Raleigh, so this may mean Greensboro. Sign-up and show interest here. January 7: Learn, Earn, and Play, starting January 17th. This QCCA event bundles chess learning with rated games while at the same time earning money for your school, See details.
